New resource for helping single moms

I wanted to share with you a new source I found to be quite helpful for those who are single moms like myself. One of the things that was really frustrating to me was finding websites which didn’t really offer any true value , and just fluff content for single moms. Getting grants and other financial support is not so easy if you don’t know where to look. Sure there are government sites, but there are so many pages and complicated information, that it can be tough to find what you are looking for. Until I found wiacs.org which has been adding lots of resources on each state. If you are a mom that just wants the information straight, then check them out.

Please keep in mind that I am NOT receiving any type of compensation for sharing this. I have a friend who knows the writer of this site and she passed this along. I was pretty impressed, and am now sharing it with you.

It’s tough raising a family as a single parent, and I was very surprised to find that as of 2009, there are more single women than married women over in the USA than ever before. That’s right, previous to 2009 married women outnumbered single women, but not the case anymore. While this is an interesting fact, it still tells us that a large percentage of those are probably single moms struggling to get by. This is why more programs for moms to succeed need to be considered by each state.

The combo meal mentality

Something that has always gotten to me when I go to get fast food is how much the combo meal is ingrained in us. We think that getting the combo is a better value so we opt for it more often than not. Truth be told, the horrible health of Americans is at the top of almost all other countries out there. So why do we get the combo meal? Are we really saving money? Is it really the best option? How about opting for what is most healthy and saving money.

If you were to cut out soda pop out of 75% of your meals imagine how much money you could save. Lets say instead of getting a combo you just get water. If your already doing that then much props to ya, but if you aren’t, then give it a shot. Soda drinks are so bad for your health, they eat the stomach lining, and just take a toll on a persons health over time.

I challenge you to try and not drink soda for one month when you get fast food. Instead replace it with water and see what the true price difference is. You will see that there really is not much of a value.

Anyways, I know this is a short post, so let me know what your thoughts are on things.
